Inih Akinola Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Inih Aniekan Akinola, 41, of Phoenix, AZ, on December 24, 2024. Born on September 9, 1983, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Aniekan and Helen Ekpo, Inih lived a life full of love, achievement, and service to others.
Inih graduated from Sunrise Mountain High School in 2001 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in 2005. Her determination and intellect led her to a rewarding career as a Senior Manager in the financial sector. Inih worked at Charles Schwab for Nineteen years, where her leadership and dedication left a lasting impact on her colleagues and community.
On February 3, 2009, Inih married the love of her life, Folarin Akinola. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising three children: Zion, Christian, and Olivia, who were her greatest pride and joy.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Inih had a deep passion for empowering young women through sports. As a devoted girls' basketball coach, she inspired countless athletes with her unwavering encouragement and guidance, teaching not just the game but life lessons that will resonate for years to come.
Inih will be remembered for her kind heart, radiant smile, and the profound love she shared with family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of compassion, resilience, and selflessness will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
Inih is survived by her husband, Folarin; her children, Zion, Christian, and Olivia; her parents, Aniekan and Helen Ekpo; an older brother Ubong Ekpo; a younger brother, Imoh Ekpo; 3 nephews and 3 nieces; and a host of extended family, friends, and colleagues who cherished her deeply.
A private celebration of Inih's life will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to American Cancer Society.
