Hope English Obituary

With heavy hearts, Hope LeAnna English,25, of Liberty Township, PA went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on September 8, 2024. She passed away while waiting for a lung transplant after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She is the daughter of John M. and Ruth English. She is also survived by her brother and friend, John L. English; maternal grandparents, Rev. Larry and Evelyn Thomas; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; numerous friends; and her best friend and cousin, Emily. She is predeceased by paternal grandparents, John J. and Rose English; an aunt, Audrey Lawton; and a cousin, Megan Thomas. Grandma English was a dearly loved and special friend.
In 2017 Hope graduated from Central Baptist High School at the top of her class. After high school, Hope participated in a Gap Year Program through SCORE International in Costa Rica, where she studied Bible, Spanish, and ministered to children. She graduated from Grove City College, with a Bachelor's Degree in English with a Minor in Spanish. Upon completion, she spent a semester in Guatemala and was a vital part of Inter-American-School teaching Bible and English.
Hope had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of the South New Milford Baptist Church, where she was active in Children's Ministries and her beloved small group. She focused much time on studying God's Word and ministering to others. Hope was kind, caring, compassionate, and always had a smile. Her faith gave her courage to face cancer treatments all the while being concerned for others. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to their SNMBC family for their prayers and support. She received over 500 cards while receiving treatments.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, September21, 2024 at the South New Milford Baptist Church, 2967 Harford Road, New Milford, PA 18834 and will be livestreamed at snmbc.org. Friends may call from 10-12, at the church, prior to the service. Interment will be made in Brookdale Cemetery.
