Harold Allen Pauley, 87, of Brook Park, Ohio, passed away on March 8, 2025. Born on January 13, 1938, in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Harry and Thelma Pauley, Harold grew up on a farm with his six brothers and two sisters, embracing a childhood rich in hard work and family bonds.
Harold was the loving husband of the late Ivana (nee Rhodes) Pauley. He is survived by his children, Allen (Jackie) Pauley, Mark (Lenna) Pauley, and Rodney Pauley. He was a proud grandfather to Bryan Pauley and Jacob Pauley, as well as a beloved great-grandfather to Owen Hennessey, Ava Pauley, Ethan Pauley, and Austin Pauley.
Harold's journey led him from the rolling hills of West Virginia to a remarkable 40-year career in Ohio's steel industry. Starting as a general laborer, Harold's determination and work ethic propelled him to the distinguished role of Fire Marshal, where his dedication ensured the safety of countless colleagues.
A man of simple joys, Harold found pleasure in friendly games of horseshoes, savoring meals out with loved ones, and honing his woodworking skills. His passion for crafting birdhouses and bat houses took him to Amish Country, where he learned the art of precision and care.
A visitation will be held on Friday March 14, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. A funeral service will be held immediately after at Sunset Chapel at 2:00pm.
