H. Krollfeifer, Jr. passed away on October 15th, 2025 at his home in Hainesport, New Jersey surrounded by loved ones. He was 86 years old.
H. (also known as Howard), was born on August 10, 1939. He grew up in Rutherford, New Jersey with his parents Viola (Preston) and Henrey J. Krollfeifer, Sr. and sister Gail (Klopher). In his youth he enjoyed playing soccer for Rutherford High School, which began a lifelong love of the sport.
In 1961 Howard graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance (Economics) and Accounting. He later earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Blackstone School of Law.
Howard served six years in the United States Army Reserves, beginning in July 1962. He was honorably discharged in 1968 at the rank of Staff Sergeant.
During his career, Howard moved around the country for 25 years before settling back in his home state of New Jersey. His working experience began at Arthur Andersen & Co. as a senior staff auditor. He was active in the leasing and financing industry since 1964, when he joined Talcott National Corporation and U.S. Leasing
Corporation a few years later. Howard worked at the Senior Vice President level for Equitable Life Leasing Corporation (ELLCO), Fleet Credit Corporation, and AT&T Commercial Finance Corporation, demonstrating outstanding leadership as he found ways to develop, implement, and enhance initiatives within each company.
Howard retired in 1999 as a Senior Vice President with Copelco Capital, managing the Financial Intermediary Group and the Manufacturing Technology Division. His extensive and accomplished career culminated in becoming a Certified Lease Professional (CLP, now known as CLFP) and Executive Vice President of D&H Enterprises, Inc., a consulting, training, and expert witness company for the equipment leasing and financing industry.
Howard had many years of involvement in soccer as a semi-pro and professional player, including playing for the Germania team in the Greater Los Angeles Soccer League. Later he was recruited into the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) where he served as Regional Commissioner, Treasurer, and a member of the Board of Directors. His promotion of the "Everyone Plays" philosophy in AYSO soccer still impacts youth soccer players today. Howard went on to become a State, National, and International (FIFA) referee, and was once a referee for the elimination rounds of the Olympic and World Cup games. In 1997 Howard received the honor of being inducted into the AYSO and National Soccer Halls of Fame.
In retirement Howard enjoyed serving his community on the Hainesport Township Joint Land Use Board and was elected Chairman. He also spent time as a middle school substitute teacher in Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies.
Howard is survived by his loving and devoted wife Dolores "Dee" Krollfeifer (Salerno), daughters Lori Snyder (Michael), Gail Minneci (Philip), June Kruse, and Denise Faustino, nephew Michael Klopher, and grandnephew Kevin Klopher. His love, support, and guidance for his 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren was extraordinary. Howard kept in touch regularly with many close friends, colleagues, siblings-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He loved sailing and traveling; specifically, vacationing on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina with family.
A memorial service will be held on October 25, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Teresa of Avila Cemetery & Mausoleum in Summit, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Goodbye Howard, I spent 53 years with you initially as an employee, and more importantly as a friend. You certainly added to my knowledge and personal development as a person.

God bless you for all your contributions as a teacher, leader, mentor and more importantly as my "buddy"!
