Gilbert P. Albillar. "Gibby"

Born: March 12, 1952 - Died July 27, 2025.

On July 27, 2025, our Lord Yeshua walked through the City of Las Cruces and He saw His Brother Gilbert "Gibby" Padilla Albillar suffering in pain, and He extended His hand out to Gibby and said, "Join Me, and follow Me to where you will be in comfort and peace." Gibby excitedly took the hand of His Lord and Savior as he left with Him into Paradise.

Gilbert "Gibby" Padilla Albillar was born on March 12, 1952, to Pascual G. Albillar and Erlinda Padilla Albillar. Gibby will always be remembered as a great family man. He was also known as a jack of all trades, If he did not know how to fix it he would learn it and master it or use his Mac Gyver skills to get it done.

As a true follower of Christ Gibby made himself a carpenter and mastered the skills of shelf and cabinet making. His designs were all sketched in his mind then created into wood. He had his own shops throughout Las Cruces and his final one being in Vado, NM.

Gibby loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar while having his cookouts amongst family and friends. When visiting with friends he always offered his specialty dish of "beer butt chicken" to go along with an evening of music. His songs ranged from Oldies to Spanish Tejano and would play anything upon request. He would also surprise his family, his great audience, with Hard Rock Music and a list of love songs. Gilbert had a magnificent smile on his face as he strummed the strings of his guitar and reminded everyone of the gift God gave him.

The love in his eyes came when his granddaughter Marisa was born. She became his everything and he was never seen without her throughout her young life. Marisa was his best friend and little helper. When he would call her, he would simply call out the name, "Tuda Bug." and she would come running as she found her place on his lap and their love for each other would brighten the room.

After she grew and married, he found joy in his little Sabastian who was his right hand while he made his cabinetry. Little Sebastian. became the son Gibby had wished for. Before Gibby had fallen ill he was teaching his grandson all the skills of his trait. Gibby's eyes would shine as he watched his little partner working at his side.

His grandchildren shared how they would go camping anytime they wanted and their Popo, Gibby, would set up tents in his backyard, have a cookout and when it began to get dark their Popo would make smores, play his guitar until they fell asleep in their tents. In the morning, they would wake up to pancakes and bacon made fresh on the grill. Gibby loved his family.

Those left to mourn Gibby are his four daughters, Shauna Pardo (husband Freddy) Stacy Albillar, Bernadette Albillar (partner Robert) and Sarah Albillar (husband Derek), and his beloved life-long partner Kathleen Albillar, along with Kevin Cline. Also left to mourn were his grandchildren, great-grandchildren many cousins, nephews and nieces and his siblings, Maria Morales (Felipe), Rudy Albillar, Lauro Albillar, and Lillian Perez (Oscar).
