Frances May Ackerman, 86, of Reese, died Saturday evening, December 7, 2024, at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. She was born May 26, 1938, in Denmark Township, Tuscola County, daughter of the late Benjamin and Hildegard (Schluckebier) Loeffler and was a graduate of Reese High School. On May 11, 1957, she married Russell Ackerman in the St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Richville. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2022. Mrs. Ackerman was a devoted homemaker all her life and helped Russell on the farm. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese for many years. Family was her passion. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren at their sporting events and following Reese High Athletics. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and riding the golf cart around.
Surviving Frances is her daughter and son, Denise Wright and her husband Greg and Dennis Ackerman and Lisa Trombley, all of Reese. Seven grandchildren, David (Jenny) Dinsmoore of Fairgrove; Kelly (Merritt) Dingus of Vassar; Kyle Ackerman and Jeff Shepherd of North Carolina; Katie (Wesley) Asel of Essexville; Cori (Josh) Miller of Reese; Kayla (Justin) Lijewski of Saginaw; and Abbey (Hunter) Vaughan of Reese; and eleven great-grandchildren, Quinn, Rhyse, Chandler, Baker, Marlie, Brinley, Logyn, Ty, Jonas, Jesse, and Colt. Also surviving are her two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Duane "Barney" Ackerman, and his wife Anita of Munger; Lyle Ackerman, and his wife Jeanie of Frankenmuth; Charlotte Skaggs of Nakomis, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her Husband and parents, Frances was predeceased by her sisters, Leona (Tom) Otto and Judy (Gordon) Daniels, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ralph and Helen Ackerman, great grandson, Micah Asel, brother-in-law, Donald Skaggs and sister-in-law Donna Ackerman.
The family would like to thank all off her caregivers at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro for their wonderful care and support.
Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, from Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Reverend Daniel Burhop will officiate with Committal Services to follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Reese. Frances' family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Thursday from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. and at the church on Friday 10 a.m. until time of services.
