Effie Conrad Obituary

Effie F. (Hawk) Conrad, 90, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026 in her residence. She was the loving wife to the late Darien L. Conrad. Born in Jim Thorpe, she was the daughter to the late Nathan and Ruth (Kuhns) Hawk.

Effie spent much of her life caring for her family and creating a wonderful home for friends and family. She worked for a short period of time at Mary Macintosh as an administrative assistant and was a hostess for The Blue Monkey Restaurant. Effie loved to read and go on walks when the weather was nice. She loved to "surf" the internet and learn new things. Effie was a longtime member of the former Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Allentown. Most of all Effie loved spending time with her family but especially her grandchildren.

Effie is survived by her sons Brian L., companion of Donna Williams, of Whitehall, Gary L., husband of Lisa, of Coplay; sisters Valentine Durner of Allentown and Mildred Reabold of Jim Thorpe; grandchildren Matthew Conrad, Jenna Conrad and Jessica Conrad.

Effie was preceded in death by her siblings Jerome, Nathan, Jr., William, Shirley, Ann Louise, Naomi and Carol.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St. Allentown. Burial will follow at St. Mark's Cemetery, Allentown. A calling period will begin at 10:00 AM.
