Diane Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brookfield Funeral Home on Oct. 8, 2025.
Diane (Bennett) Anderson, of Brookfield, beloved wife of Brian E. Anderson, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday, October 6, 2025, after a courageous 23-year battle with cancer. She was born in Danbury on April 14, 1957, daughter of the late James G. Bennett II and Barbara Davis Bennett. She was raised in Bethel and was a graduate of Bethel High School, Class of 1975.
Diane was an avid quilter. She made dozens of quilts for family and friends over the last 20 years. For those that received a quilt, we would love to be able to get a picture of the quilt with the person to whom it was given.
Diane also loved going to Renaissance Faires, enjoyed dressing up in Ren garb to stroll through the fairs, usually to go shopping.
Christmas was her favorite holiday, she loved giving gifts to see the joy on people's faces, and to enjoy the time with family – the more the merrier. She also loved baking Easter Pizzas every year on Good Friday with her son Ben.
In addition to her cherished husband of 37 years, Brian, she will be sadly missed by her sons, Ben Clawson and Eric Anderson; her grandchildren, Katherine and Julie Clawson; her brother, Peter Bennett; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Matthew Clawson; her sister, Pamela Lonczak, and her brother, James G. Bennett III.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 10th at 11:00am at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Greenwood Avenue, Bethel. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Brookfield.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, October 9th between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00pm.
Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

Brian, Ben, Eric, Peter & family
You have our deepest sympathy. Diane and I were best friends, which began growing up on Oxford Street and lasted all our lives. We did everything together in sisterhood. We had countless memories over the years. The best memories were being each other´s maid of honor and sharing the birth of our sons.
We will miss Diane and her smile. She was a special woman that did special and amazing things. She liked to do arts and crafts including a needlepoint of an English cottage she gifted us after we moved into our house. She was a strong woman always keeping a positive outlook. We will always remember all the fun the times that we had in the past 28 or so years as well. Whether it was summer pool parties at your home, or camping in the Poconos, New Years parties at our home, along with her 40th Birthday party.
Losing a loved one is never easy no matter what the circumstances. We hope you will take solace in sharing Diane´s memories to keep her light alive. God bless Diane!
Our thoughts, prayers and love is with you all.
Love,
Mo & Joe

Di, although we´ve had 65 years of memories and pictures, I want to share the wonderful last 10 years we´ve had together exploring new places and things. From doing the Bourbon Trail and Churchhill Downs in KY, to visiting Savannah, exploring all around and the Pirate who wanted to take you at the Pirate House, to cruising the ICW in FL. They are our recent memories which only added to the beautiful ones of so many years ago.
I love you my Sister and I will miss you so. Till we meet again
