David Barrett Obituary

DAWSON SPRINGS - David Lee Barrett, 79 of Dawson Springs, formerly of Benton, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

Born Monday, April 8, 1946, in Calvert City, he was the son of the late Wesley Barrett and the late Margie Smith Barrett. David was retired from the maintenance department of Honeywell in Metropolis, Illinois. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, JoeAnn Barrett of Golconda, Illinois; sons, Marty Barrett (Beverly) of Calvert City, Randy Barrett (Amy) of Benton, and Barry Barrett (Missy) of Benton; brothers, Donald Barrett (Susan) of Calvert City, and Leon Barrett of Calvert City; grandchildren, Greg McClain, Samantha Barrett, Shane Barrett (Katherine), Bailey Barrett, Morgan Noles (Ethan) and Thomas Barrett; great-grandchildren, MJ Barrett and Evie Barrett. As well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Matthew Barrett.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Collier Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Chandler officiating.

Burial to follow at Fooks Cemetery in the Possum Trot community.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, Collier Funeral Home located in Benton.
