Daniel (Dan) Raymond Alessandrini, age 63, died peacefully at home in West Deptford, NJ on June 8th. He passed in the arms and care of his loving wife, Maryann, listening to their wedding song (Ribbons in the Sky by Stevie Wonder) after a long and difficult battle with cancer. A true story of how opposites attract, his calm demeanor perfectly complimented her boundless energy through their 41 years of marriage. His courage and the toughness and grit he displayed during the grueling battle against the illness he eventually succumbed to was only matched by her consistent and constant care for him through that struggle. Her selfless dedication to him was matched by his own care and worry for what his family would go through and feel once he passed.
Dan and Maryann built a life based on their unconditional love for each other, their shared values and the wish that their three sons, Daniel (Dan), Nicholas (Nick), and Christopher (Chris) grew up in a stable environment where they could flourish and grow. Dan's wife, Marisa, and Chris's wife, Courtney, were welcomed by him into his family as daughters. He adored his grandkids, Adriana and Luciano, and watched them grow surrounded by his love and the love of their family. He is also survived by his loving cousins, friends and colleagues, and his sister Giselda. He was preceded in death by his father Esperio (Spud), mother Margaret, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins who welcomed him to heaven this week.
A true patriarch, he instilled the values of hard work, loyalty, and duty in his sons by being the embodiment of those traits, and his legacy will endure through his grandkids and future generations. Though often quiet, he always knew the exact right thing to say because he was thoughtful and deliberate. He loved a good meal and a glass of wine, going to the shore with his wife, hitting a jackpot, and all Philadelphia sports. Watching the Eagles win the Super Bowl in February surrounded by his sons (Go Birds!) was an incredible gift after a lifetime of sports suffering. Complaining about the teams he supported has been thoroughly ingrained in his sons and grandchildren who will all continue to regularly gripe about them in his honor.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday June 13th, 2025 from 10-11am at the Bradley Funeral Home 601 Rt. 73 South at Evesham Road, Marlton where a memorial service will be held at 11am. In lieu of flowers or gifts, and per his wishes, the family asks that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center https://foundation.cooperhealth.org/online-giving-form/md-anderson-cancer-center-at-cooper/at Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ, whose kind and respectful team extended his life and focused on the quality of the time he had left to spend with his family.
