Marilyn Diane (Bridges) Anderson was born to Lonnie Ray “L.R.” and Lucy Mae (James) Bridges on November 06, 1943 in Hastings, OK and departed this life in Marlow, OK on August 4, 2025 at the age of 81 years, 8 months, and 29 days.
Marilyn grew up on a farm near Hastings before moving to Temple where she graduated from Temple High School in 1962. She attended OU for a year and then married Donald Eugene “Donnie” Anderson in Temple on September 8, 1963. To the union 3 sons, Donald Charles, Robert Lane, and Richard Shane were born. Marilyn began a 60-year career in clerical work starting at SW Bell, was an aide for Temple Public Schools, ran Anderson Electric & Western Auto in Thomas, OK, worked for Mobil Oil, and then worked for the Mahaffy family for 25 years before retiring in 2021.
Marilyn enjoyed reading, crocheting blankets, bird watching and was an awesome cook. She was the most selfless person ever and loved her boys. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was one of the strongest Christians you will ever know.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, L.R. and Lucy Mae Bridges; 2 sisters, Doris June and Delores Ann Bridges; 4 brothers, Donald Ray, Doyle Lee, James Douglas, and David Lynn Bridges; and her in-laws A.B. & Evelyn Anderson.
Survivors include 3 sons, Charles and Doreen Anderson of Kingston, OK, Shane Anderson, and Lane Anderson and Windy all of Marlow; 2 sisters, Deborah Kaye and Dan Del Hierro of Euliss, TX and Janet Denise and Rick Pattersen of Marlow, OK; 5 grandchildren and spouses, Jonathon and Alex Anderson of Duncan, Emily and Stetson Peyton of Duncan, Luke Anderson of Oklahoma City, Abby Anderson of Duncan, and Atticus Anderson of Duncan; 3 great grandchildren, Klover Peyton, A.B. Anderson and River Peyton; 3 bonus grandkids, Jeff, Paige, and Nolan Del Hierro, other relatives and many friends.
