Charles "Bobby" Robert Hale Sr., 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Mount Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Bobby was born in Cannelton, Indiana on February 12, 1933 to the late Glover and Margaret (Shore) Hale. He adored his wife of 73 years, who passed away last November and he loved his children and grandchildren. Bobby looked forward to Facetiming his daughter almost every day and the visits from his sons every weekend. He and his wife frequently drove two hours roundtrip to visit the grave of his firstborn child, Martha Jo, who died in 1953 at the age of 14 months. Bobby enjoyed tinkering on things and he knew everything to know about old cars. He was the man everyone called to help them fix their car or work on something around their house. Bobby liked to play the guitar. Above all, he was a good dad and a good man.
Bobby is survived by his daughter, Kathy Shoulders (Andy); sons, Charles R. Hale Jr. (Diane) and Rick Hale; brothers, Ottie Hale (Cinda, deceased) and David Hale (Shannon); grandchildren, Rachel Hale, Lauren Hale, and Arabella Shoulders; great-grandson, Nicholas Forbes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Dalcy (Daugherty) Hale; daughter, Martha Jo Hale; his parents; sisters, Edwina Pease (Albert), Martine Holloman, Irene Hale, Billy Jean Murray (Robert), Charlotte Riddle (David), Marcia Criss (Robert), and Judy Turpin; and brothers, Curtis Hale (Mary) and Clinton Hale.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
