Carol Dean Neal Angell, 87, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family.
Mrs. Angell was born April 2, 1938, in Forsyth County, to Clarence Cornelius Neal and Opal Irene Dean Neal. Carol worked for the City of Winston-Salem for several years then later retired from the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce. She also sang in the church choir for over 60 years. In her free time, Carol enjoyed reading, bird watching, and travelling all over the United States with her beloved husband, Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Oliver Grey Angell; her daughter, Lynn Angell Sluder (Gary) of Lexington; her son, Daryl Angell (Shelly) of Yardley, PA; five grandchildren, Megan Newsome (Stan) of Whitsett, Sarah Spears (Newlan) of Lexington, Bethany Angell Chan (Luan) of Plymouth, MN, Amanda Angell Daniel (Mark) of Concord, MA, and Meredith Angell Hinger (Kai) of Ambler, PA; thirteen great-grandchildren, Logan, Bryson, Raelynn, Eli, Hayden, Nicole, Wesley, Christopher, Joseph, Julia, Edith, Woden, and Millicent; one sister, Sarah Neal Parnell of Winston-Salem; one nephew, Rick Parnell (Lynn) of Winston-Salem; and one niece, Robin Scott (Mike) of Winston-Salem.
The family would also like to extend a special thanks to caregiver, Laura Koontz for her love, dedication, and support. Also, a special thanks to the staff of Trellis Supportive Care including nurse, Kellie Boseman.
A graveside service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Bill McKenzie officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trellis Supportive Care 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103
