Bruce M. Pearce, 92, of Simpsonville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Louisville.
Born on March 21, 1932, in East Bernstadt, Kentucky, Bruce was the son of the late Butler Anderson Pearce and Frances A. Farris Pearce.
Bruce was a proud veteran of the Korean War and had a long career with Fischer Packing, Bourbon Stockyards, and Purnell's. He was an active member of the Louisville AG Club and a dedicated supporter of 4-H. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and the UK Livestock Judging Team. Notably, he was the first male cheerleader at UK and remained an avid supporter of UK sports throughout his life. Bruce also had a passion for floral arranging.
A man of faith, Bruce was a member of both Simpsonville Christian Church and Middletown Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ruth H. Pearce; his brothers, Boyd and Garnett Pearce; and his sisters, Wilma Mattingly and his twin, Bonnie Hall.
He is survived by his sons, David Pearce (Linda) and Joel Pearce (Lisa Scott); two step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Simpsonville Christian Church, 7002 Shelbyville Road, Simpsonville, KY 40067. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Simpsonville Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Simpsonville Christian Church Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 37, Simpsonville, KY 40067.
