Bobby Ross Young, age 86, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in Waco. He was born July 3, 1938 to Hester Mae (Moreland) and James Calvin Young Sr. in Waco, Texas. Bobby grew up in Lorena and graduated from Lorena High School in 1956. He was known for his love of sports and was an accomplished basketball player in High School. Bobby spent his career with Texas Highway Department until his retirement. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon Joy Young; and sister, Louise Plemmons.
Bobby is survived by his son, Brad Young and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Hollie Sweatt and husband Ryan, Katelyn Young; sister, Reba Lois Brown; brother, James Calvin Young Jr.; along with several nieces and nephews.
At Bobby’s request there will be no services at this time. If you wish to make a donation in his memory, please consider making that donation to Antioch Waco at 510 N. 20th Street, Waco, Texas 76706.
