Beril Macy Abraham, 87, of the 300 block of Constitution Drive, Virginia Beach, died June 16, 2025. Born in Norfolk he was the son of the late Fred Abraham and Sarah Ferstman Abraham.
Beril was married for 62 years to his dear wife Barbara. He was an attorney who enjoyed practicing in the Tidewater area and a proud graduate of the University of Virginia and UVa Law School. During his younger years, he was on the board and several committees of Congregation Beth El in Norfolk. Beril was a passionate golfer and avid reader, and a devoted Washington Nationals fan. He enjoyed spending time with family, including grandchildren and grand-nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife Barbara, his sons Brian (Corrin) and Jules (Dana), and his grandchildren Alec, Izzy, and Jake, as well as his sister-in-law Shirley Levine Handelsman.
A funeral service will be held 1:30p.m. Wednesday June 18, 2025 at the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. Contributions in memory of Beril should be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Beril and I, along with Hal Juren, were friends during our UVa days. We both worked at WINA, the C-ville radio station. I last saw him at our 50th class reunion. My consolences to all the family.
