Beatrice M. Albanese (nee Bowers), 92, of Manahawkin passed away at her home on January 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving daughters. Bea, known to many by "Babe" was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, where she graduated from Lincoln High School and met her husband, Frank. They raised their five children in Secaucus and spent their summers at the Jersey Shore.
Bea was employed by Service Transportation where she served as a shop steward for the Teamsters Local 560. She later worked as an insurance agent for over 30 years, Bea retired and moved permanently to Beach Haven West, where she was a summer resident since the 1970s. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Secaucus and St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Brant Beach.
As a member of the Manahawkin Elks, Bea served as the Exalted Ruler and volunteered countless hours supporting members of the Stafford Township community. Bea was also a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, where she held various positions including State Commander, and volunteered at the veterans hospital in East Orange and the Lyons VA Medical Center in Bernardsville. She was also a member of the Stafford Township Woman's Club and Senior Social Club.
Bea enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, trips to Atlantic City and cruises to various destinations. She shared cherished memories at the shore with her family boating, fishing, clamming, and crabbing. She loved living on the water.
Beatrice was predeceased by her parents William Bowers, Sr. and Catherine (nee Erhardt), her husband of 50 years, Frank Albanese, her son Frank Joseph Albanese, her brothers William and Richard Bowers, and her sister Barbara Koscuich.
Beatrice is survived by her children Katherine Ann Albanese-Benevento of Hawthorne, NJ; Carla Dubiel and her husband Paul of Vero Beach, FL; Beatrice Mary Albanese of Forked River, NJ;, and Mary Grace Montero and her husband Jose of Berkeley Heights, NJ. She is survived by her grandchildren Richard Benevento and his wife Evelyn, Frank Joseph Albanese, III. and his wife Heather, Dana Rose and her husband Frank, Christopher Benevento and his wife Jaclyn, Paul Dubiel Jr. and his wife Megan, Katherine De Groat and her husband Daniel, Stephanie Harmon, Daniel Harmon, Jonathan Harmon, Mia Montero, and Benjamin Montero. Bea is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Stefano, Luca, Alessandro, Maximiliano, and Guiseppe Benevento, Skylar, Zoeyanna, and Declan Albanese, Hudson Rose, Jessica and Bode Dubiel, and Gatlin and Audrey De Groat. Beatrice leaves behind her beloved sister Beverly Largmann and many adoring nieces, and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours at Bugbee and Riggs Funeral Home 1119 Long Beach Boulevard Corner of 12th & Long Beach Boulevard Ship Bottom, NJ 08008 on January 15, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm, and on January 16, 2025 from 9:30-10:30 am. A funeral mass will be celebrated on January 16, 2025, 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd, Brant Beach, NJ 08008. Cremation will be private.
