Barbara Jane Jones, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Sarasota Florida at the age of 88. Born on May 30, 1936 in Monroe, Michigan moved to Hubbard, Ohio at age 6 and retired to Palm Harbor Florida where she lived for the last 39 years.
Barbara's journey led her to the love of her life, Tom Jones, with whom she shared a beautiful 60 years of marriage until his passing in 2016. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Pam and her husband Bill Hudy, Wayne and his wife Lois, and Deryl and his wife Mary Jo and a total of 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Barbara was also a cherished sister to Madelyn and Jim. Her family was the cornerstone of her existence.
Professionally, Barbara was a licensed cosmetologist, bringing beauty and light into the lives of her clients. Her career later transitioned to the role of Credit Manager, where she was respected for her integrity and dedication. But above all, Barbara was a loving mother and wife, roles she considered her greatest accomplishments.
Barbara's faith was the guiding force in her life. She was a devoted member of her church for 41 years in Ohio and continued her spiritual journey for 39 years at the Chapel by the Sea in Florida. Her love for the Lord was evident in her commitment to her church community, where she joyfully sang in the choir and prepared countless dinners in the fellowship hall. Sundays were her favorite day, a time to reflect, rejoice, and be surrounded by her church family.
As we bid farewell to Barbara Jane Jones, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and the many lives she touched with her kindness and grace.
