Zola Sparks Obituary

WAKEMAN - Zola ""Dell"" Sparks, (nee: Hall), 84 years of age, and a resident of Wakeman, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013, at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, Ohio following a brief illness.
Dell was born October 5, 1928, in Morehead, Kentucky where she was raised. After marriage, she moved to Lorain.
Dell enjoyed being a housewife and mother. She also worked part-time as a cashier at Myers Goldberg in Lorain. She attended Camden Baptist Church. Dell loved gardening and had a vegetable booth at Johnny's Flea Market.
Survivors include her son Gary Sparks of Malvern Arkansas, and son-in-law Larry Leadingham with whome she had made her home in Wakeman; many grandchildren including Jennifer Cook, Scott Leadingham and Joseph Sparks as well as many great grandchildren; she was also survived by her sister Ruby Charlet of Morehead, Kentucky.
Dell was preceded in death by her husband of forty nine years, Willie ""Bill"" Sparks; her daughters Barbara Hall in 2005, Carolyn Leadingham in 2011, and infant Brenda Sue Sparks in 1948; sisters Marelia Cornsih and Elsie Vickey; and parents Ora and Pearl Hall (nee Conley).
Friends may call Monday, August 26, 2013 from 12 noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Lawrence Nocella, pastor of Camden Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Ohio.
