Shannon McCrea Obituary

Shannon Adelle McCrea passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023 at the age of 56 after a brave battle with cancer. Shannon was born in Lorain on June 20, 1967 and was raised in Vermilion, attending Firelands High School.Shannon worked for the Ford Motor Company, Ohio Assembly for 18 years and was a member of UAW Local 2000. When not working, Shannon loved spending time with her friends and family, painting, quilting, scrapbooking, and collecting vintage jewelry. She also loved vacationing in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Shannon was happiest though taking daily drives to the lake with her granddaughter. She was proud of her immediate family. Shannon was loving, kind, and generous. Those who knew her were blessed to have had her in their lives. She will be deeply missed.Shannon leaves her daughter, Ashley Oates (Neil); her grandchildren, Kennedy and Landon; her brother Dale Garnek; and her best friend, Laura Jones. Shannon was predeceased by her parents, Dennis and Mary Jane McCrea; her brothers, Gregory Garnek, Shaun McCrea, and Scott McCrea; and her nephew Tommy Gray.Memorial contributions are suggested in Shannon's name to the Huntingtons Disease Society of America, 505 8th Ave., Suite 902, New York, NY, 10018.A memorial visitation will be held for Shannon on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Rd.
