Gershom Jackson Obituary

Gershom A. Jackson, Jr., age 42, of Ten Mile, TN, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2022. He was born in Springfield, MA, on December 6, 1979, to Gershom A. Sr. and Deborah (Bogan) Jackson. Gershom was a graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School and attended the University of Hartford for a year. He worked as a machinist for the La-Z-Boy furniture company. Gershom was a father first; he enjoyed spending time with his family, often on the lake near his home. Gershom was the quintessential people person, always making himself available to help others. Gershom made the ultimate sacrifice by helping a friend in need, but those who know him are not surprised by this, understanding his kind and warmhearted spirit. Gershom was preceded in death by his mother. Gershom is survived by his father, son Gideon J. Jackson, and beloved Hilda Solano of TN; Grandmother Rosemary Hoke of CT; three brothers, Marlon (Caroline) Jackson of TX, Maurice Jackson of Jamaica, and Hopeland (Marlene) Jackson of Springfield, MA; five sisters, Lorna Jackson of England, Sharon (David III) Greenfield of CT, Lorna (Lloyd) Thomas of FL, and Rosemary Jackson of Springfield, MA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 10 am to 11 am at the Progressive Community Baptist Church, 599 State St., Springfield, MA with an 11 am funeral service following, interment to follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
