Edwin Kerr Obituary
1948 - 2023
Suffield, CT
Edwin Lee Kerr, 75, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, December 11, after fighting a valiant battle with cancer never losing his humor and grace. He left this world surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born January 21,1948 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert and Doris (O'Morrow) Kerr. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1969 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and from UCONN School of Law in 1973. He worked as a corporate attorney in the insurance industry for 50 years and was currently employed by MassMutual. He loved spending time in Ireland and at his beach cottage in Matunuck, Rhode Island frequently hoisting a pint of Guinness with friends at Tara's Pub.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cathleen (Mills) Kerr, children, Bob (Kate) Kerr, Kristen (Jason) Fabi, Jennifer (Roderick) Moss, Mary (Rick) Brown, Jameson (Siobhan) Kerr and Taylor Kerr, grandchildren Mary and Maggie Kerr, Alexa, Nicolas and Matthew Emma, Ashley and Adam Fabi, Ariel, Brandon and Tori Moss, Alexandra and Connor Brown, one great granddaughter, Arielle Haywood, and one sister, Peggy Hoyt. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ken and Dale Kerr, and the family's beloved dog Rocco. He will have a private ceremony with the family. I was so very sorry to learn of Ed's passing. He was a wonderful, well-liked, co-worker at MassMutual. Ever a true gentleman, his door was always open to offer a friendly greeting or to put aside his work to generously offer assistance. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

My heart goes out to his family during this time of loss. I enjoyed working with Ed at MassMutual. He was always helpful and knowledgeable. There were many folders on and around his desk and he knew exactly where everything was when he needed it. He lived down the street and we'd chat when he was out rounding up the chickens in the front yard. Ed was a great person and will be truly missed by all.

I am so very sorry to hear this news. I enjoyed working with Ed at Phoenix and MassMutual. He was very knowledgeable and always willing to assist in various compliance matters. I also enjoyed talking to Ed about Ireland. We had some great laughs. Please know that Ed, his family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless Ed and may he rest in peace.
