To have lived well for 102 years and ten months is the legacy of Anne Marie Fenton Connors. Anne left us September 11, 2023, peacefully in her family home in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Anne was born November 8, 1920 to her father Andrew Fenton, and mother Bridget Hoar Fenton. Anne grew up in the Forest Park Area with her sisters, Helen Fenton Fleming, Barabara Fenton, Mary Fenton Phelan, and her brother Maurice "Mossy" Fenton.
It is here where Anne's collection of stories she told with joy began, and continued for nearly 103 years. All of those who were graced to have known Anne enjoyed listening to her stories that encapsulated the very "Anne Connors" way of living life.
Anne met her husband Charles Connors when she was 16 and they had 6 children. Anne prided herself in her career at the telephone company and cherished the lifelong friends she made during her years of service.
Anne was predeceased by her husband Charles J. Connors, sons Michael and Charles J. Connors, and her daughter Patricia ViVenzio and son-in-law Francis ViVenzio.
Anne leaves her daughter Susan Connors and grandson Tallon Connors of Cape Cod. She leaves her son John Connors, and her granddaughter Sarah Connors, and her grandson Sean Connors (predeceased).
Anne leaves her daughter Jaqueline Connors of Springfield, and her granddaughter Britni Autum Prince and Kepa, and her grandson Kolton and Kenzi Kalima-Padillo.
Anne leaves her granddaughter Carrie Couto and husband Paul Couto, and grandsons Vikram and Ravi Couto, of Durham North Carolina. Anne leaves her granddaughter Tara ViVenzio, and her granddaughters Kaliana and Viviana Faith ViVenzio of Cape Cod. Anne leaves her granddaughter Kate ViVenzio, and her granddaughters Zoey and Kaila Toy, of Saint Augustine, Florida,
Anne also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, Great-Grandmother to all, Gram was best known as G-Gram, aka "super-Gram", the 72 year old rollerblader.
Anne prided herself in her family and modeled a matriarch who lived for her family, teaching wisdom, tough love and resilience. She also taught one to laugh and loved her prank gifts to her Granddaughters! Anne enjoyed reading, and you could find her anytime winning at the casino. She loved spending time with family and seeing "the kids". Anne loved traveling to Florida to see her brother Mossy and his wife Joan and their family, She loved to travel with her daughter Pat to Durham and St Augustine, and Cape Cod,
We shall remember Anne living life to the fullest in high heels, and being a true survivor,
A special thanks to her youngest daughter Jaqueline Connors, who made sure she lived her wish, caring for her at home, with a loyal ferocity, during the last years of the century she lived.
Her family and friends will gather at Holy Cross Church in Springfield at 11am on Monday September 25th for a Liturgy of Christian Burial. She will then be laid to rest at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 1pm.
