Jack Laster Obituary

Jack Vernon Laster, 83, passed away on March 24, 2022. Jack was born on Jan. 21, 1939, in Tyler, Missouri, to Wiley and Elsie (Battles) Laster.

Surviving are his daughter, Karen (Jeff) Herrold of Canyon Lake, Texas; sons, Tim (Holly) Laster of Knox, Indiana, and Randy Laster of Popular Buff, Missouri; sister, Billie Jean Short of Dale, Arkansas; brothers, Jerry Wayne Laster Sr. of Kennett, Missouri, and Wiley Eugene Laster of Frostproof, Florida; stepsister, Linda Diane Taylor of Bragg City, Missouri; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Catherine Inez Laster; brothers, Jay B. Laster and Roland Lynn Laster; and stepsister, Debbie Faye Crowel.

Jack enjoyed fishing, flea markets, his dog, practical jokes, trying to fix anything that was broken, and most importantly family.

Cremation has taken place with Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, Texas, followed by interment in Steele, Missouri. A gathering to celebrate Jack's life will take place in Kennett, Missouri, on April 29 at the VFW from 4 to 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, Texas.

I worked with Jack at American Home Foods in 1971-73. I was just a kid then and he treated me well and I've never forgot it. (He tied me upside down to a rack and left me there, we all got a good laugh)!! Sorry for your loss but the loss will not be forever.
