Gary Plaster Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 5, 2022.
Gary Owen Plaster Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 20th ,2022.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Lorene Plaster and his wife of 42 years Donna(Coursey)Plaster.
He is survived by his brother Ronnie Plaster, his son Gary Owen Plaster Jr. and two daughters Ralinda Yocom and Angel Tanksley.
Gary was the GREATEST Grandad to eight grandchildren including Whitney Allen, Monica Applewhite , Jordan Keeney, Gari Dawn Bowden, Ryan Yocom, Shelby Plaster, Mercedes Dalton and Jonathon Plaster.
He also had six great grandchildren to dote on including Mason Applewhite, Carson Frandsen, Jenson Allen, Ronin Bowden(who is in heaven with Grandad now), Dallas and Jett Keeney. Gary also had several "Daycare Grandkids" who called him Grandad.
Gary was born to Owen and Lorene Plaster, raised and graduated in Hartville , MO. He was saved and baptized at an early age and spent most of his adult life serving The Lord. Including some time doing Prison Ministry. Gary continued to worship and attended James River Church in Springfield at the time of his passing.
Gary was a Jack Of All Trades who never turned down anyone who needed help. He could build a structure, wire it, build furniture, fix appliances, repair cars or give you a tow if he couldn't fix it on the spot.
Gary spent his life traveling the entire USA with his family, including Hawaii and Alaska with his wife Donna. After retiring from General Electric , Gary enjoyed going to car shows up until the weekend before Covid 19 shut the country down. He spent many years restoring old cars and his family remembers fondly riding around with the top down. The grandchildren's favorite memories are throwing candy from the "Hot Rod" in many Christmas parades.
Gary was the best Son, Brother, Husband, Brother In Law, Dad, Uncle, Grandad, Cousin, Friend and Neighbor that anyone could ask for and He Will Be Greatly Missed! Gary will never be forgotten and will always be remembered as the man who could and actually would, fix EVERYTHING!!
WE LOVE YOU AND ALREADY MISS YOU!!
