Donald Whan Obituary
FORT WAYNE - Donald Earl Whan, 67, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Born in Kendallville, Indiana, Donald was the son of the late Jack and Mary Whan.
Donald graduated from East Noble High School and earned his bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1974, from Purdue University.
Donald worked in food services for FWCS for 25 years, prior to working for Parkview Hospital in the Dietary Department, for 15 years.
Donald was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
He was an avid sports fan, especially Purdue sports. Donald enjoyed golfing, planning trips with his wife, spending holiday dinners together as a family and preparing his Thanksgiving turkeys. He loved his family and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Debra Whan; children, Jaclyn (Donald) Shuler, and Jeff (Hannah) Whan; grandchildren, Maia Shuler, Elliott, Lillian, and Leah Whan; and brother, David (Janet) Whan.
Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Whan.
Due to COVID-19, private family services will be held at this time with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.

Condolences to your family. I will always remember how kind Don was to my mom (Nancy Pressley) who managed Northrop H.S. cafeteria. I too became a friend of Don's and enjoyed seeing him at Northrop, when I visited my mom at lunchtime. What a nice man and he will be missed, I am sure.

My deepest sympathies to Don's wife Debra, his children Jackie and Jeff, his grandchildren, the rest of his family, and his friends. Don and I have both lived and raised our families in the Bellshire Community here in Fort Wayne. Don was a great neighbor and I got to know him a lot better working with him on the Bellshire Community Association Board of Directors over the last few years. He was a great guy and I will miss him very much. R.I.P. Don. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

So sorry to hear of Don's passing. Bud and I were thinking back to when we got together with my mom and dad (Joan and Don Bellis) and Linda and Greg and our kids on New Years Eve and played games. We are keeping you and the family in our prayers.

It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of my beloved Kneale House brother and roommate. Don and I met at the house and became instant friends. We became roommates and the room was renamed DD after us. He was good at reaching out to me and keeping in contact. I always looked forward to his calls or our visits.
May your fondest memories soon replace your sorrow.
