Paulette Vetos Obituary

On Monday, September 4th, 2023, Paulette Kay Vetos (Hill), beloved wife, mother, and sister passed away. She was seventy-eight years old. Paulette was born to Manfred and Leona Hill in Canton, South Dakota on July 8th, 1945. She grew up on the farm in Canton and later attended Canton High School where she met the love of her life, Stan Vetos Jr.

They were married on March 11th, 1964, and together they started a life with three sons, Scott, Jason, and Justin. They loved to travel and lived in many states including Colorado, Minnesota, South Dakota, Idaho, and Arizona. They settled in Brookings, South Dakota for a while where their kids finished high school and attended college before they moved to Nampa, Idaho. Later in life they also spent much time in Mesa, Arizona where they made many friends.

Paulette was loved by anyone who met her. Her sense of humor was infectious. She was kind, loving, free spirited, and had a wonderful love of life. She could make anything fun. She loved to dress to the nines, and loved blingy jackets and hats, and had a flare for accessorizing. She was adventurous and strong, and loved spending time with her family riding horses, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, and spending time on the lake at their lake home in Brookings.

Paulette and Stan loved to travel and see new things and meet new people. They traveled all over the United States and had multiple trips to Canada, Mexico, Norway, and other beautiful destinations. The couple loved to dance and would go out dancing in their younger years and later on in life would crank up the juke box in their basement and dance the night away with family and friends.

For over 60 years, Paulette and Stan shared a love that you only read about in story books.

In 2017 Paulette suffered a major stroke and was immobilized for much of her remaining life. For over six years she personified strength and determination in her battle with her declining health. Stan was her sole caregiver and remained by her side every minute of every day providing the love and attention she needed until her passing.

Those who were happy to have shared her life are her husband, Stan; her three sons, Scott (Jessi) Vetos, Jason (Cheri) Vetos, Justin (Denise) Vetos; her sisters, Renee Johnson, Carla (Tom) Bass; her brother, Richard (Linda) Hill; her granddaughters, Danica (Brent) Thor, Develyn (Josh) Vetos, Danissa (Ben) Mulder; her grandsons, Brandyn Vetos, Josh (Andrea) Vetos, Zack (Alicia) Vetos, Jadyn Vetos; her great grandchildren, Cora, Ava, Leah, Sammy, and Waylon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Manfred and Leona Hill, and her brother Randy Hill.

The family has requested a private burial at a date and time to be determined later.
