James Elbert Walsh James Elbert Walsh,75, of Hardeeville, SC, passed away onApril 13, 2017.Visitation will be held from4pm - 6pm on Monday April 17thatBull Street Baptist Church, 1400 Bull Street, Savannah, GA with a memorial service to follow. His body was donated to the Medical University of South Carolina Anatomical Gift Program. Elbertwas born inRidgeland, SConAugust 23, 1941.He graduated "thank the laudi" fromBluffton High School and continued on to receive an educationfromthe School of Hard Knocks.Elbertwas married toGwen WalshonOctober 9th, 1968; they were married48 years. Elbertworked as an independent grocerfor25 years.Heenjoyedgolf and running his mouth to anyone who would listen.Hewas also actively involved inBull Street Baptist Church where he served as deacon.Elbertis survived byhis wife Gwen and his three children: Deanne Spikes and her husband Donald, Jarrett Walsh and his wife Jessica, and Brandon Walsh and his wife Stephanie. His five grandsons (Benjamin, Colin, Elliott, Brody and Peter) were blessed to know him and call him "Papa" as well. He is also survived by his sister, Evelyn Brady of Aiken, SC.Elbertis preceded in death byhis father and mother, James and Louise Walsh as well as his brother, Luther Walsh.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given toBull Street Baptist Church at1400 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401to support the mission of Mike and Anna Lastfogel.
