Eugenia Rupert Obituary

Eugenia Rae Rupert (Mosley), 76, passed away on Feb. 12, 2025, at her home in Yucca Valley.
Rae was born Dec. 22, 1948, to Jeanne and Ralph in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1975, she met her late husband, the love of her life and her very best friend, Gerald Rupert. They were married in 1977 and, after having their two daughters in 1979 and 1981, they moved from Cleveland to California, where they made a home and a life together in Yucca Valley.
Rae will be remembered as she was known: a sunny and infectious spirit who could brighten any room she walked into and any life she touched. Her warmth and her laugh will be missed, but because she shared them generously, will never be forgotten.
Her greatest joy in her life were her daughters, who will simply never be the same without her.
Rae is survived by her mother, Jeanne, and her daughters, Imani Rupert-Gordon, her wife, Derah Rupert-Gordon, and Maya Rupert.
She is also survived by a community of people who loved her and whose lives she made brighter with her sunshine.
A memorial will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Friendship Hall in Joshua Tree, CA, and via Zoom.

My heart is hurting for the loss of my friend, Rae. Because of the distance between us, I'm sorry that I couldn't have seen her one last time. I will miss talking to Rae and sharing memories of us at work and her girls whom I've follow since they were in high school. Much to her family. Her friend, Mahalia Jackson.

Rae and I worked together at the Postal Service for many years. She had a smile and laugh that could cheer up anyone. I always enjoyed being in her presence. She will be missed.

What can one say to express the loss of a life-long friend. I think of Proverbs 18:24..."there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother (sister)". I also think of 1 Corinthians 13:4-5..."love does not keep record of wrongs". Finally I think of Proverbs 20:6..."many claim unfailing love" but remaining a faithful friend through the test of time is a rarity. I thank God for a true best friend. May you rest in great peace, Rae. Love you still, Elois.
