Tommy Hardwick Obituary

Tommy Hardwick
June 9, 1942 - January 9, 2022
Fort Mill, South Carolina - Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Webster Hardwick, Jr., 79, of Fort Mill, SC passed away Sunday, January 9th, 2022, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
A native of Narrows, Virginia, Tommy was the son of the late Thomas Webster and Pauline Leggett Hardwick, Sr. He graduated from Fort Mill High School and served six years in the National Guard.
Tommy was the owner of Etiket Printing. A founding member of the Fort Mill Rotary Club, where he was named a Paul Harris Fellow recipient. Tommy was a long-time member of Unity Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon and Elder, along with numerous other roles through the years.
An avid outdoorsman, Tommy enjoyed annual hunting trips in Virginia with his cousins and friends at the family hunting cabin, lobster diving in Key Largo with his extended family, fishing with his life-long buddies, and spending time on the boat at his Lake Wylie home. His love and passion for the outdoors drove his commitment for conservation of South Carolina's natural resources, and he dedicated himself tirelessly as a board member and volunteer for the Harry Hampton Wildlife Fund.
His love of the outdoors extended into his love of sports. Whether it was snow skiing, golf, baseball, football, or running, if he attempted something, he was determined to succeed. He instilled this passion into his kids and all the athletes he coached over the years in football and baseball. Most recently, he took great pride in watching his grandchildren excel in sports. His presence and dedication at the baseball field earned him the title of "Papa Rooster", as he was lovingly named by the parents and teammates of his grandson's baseball team.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Webster "TW" Hardwick III and his wife, Kendall; his daughter Jill Brooks and her husband, Scott; and four grandchildren, Thomas Hardwick IV, Sloan Hardwick, Harry Brooks, and Hardwick Brooks.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Unity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Matthew A. Rich officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. The family also host friends on Saturday January 15th at the Bob Reid Field Trial Barn at the Anne Springs Close Greenway from 5-7 PM, 195 Adventure Road Fort Mill SC 29715.
Memorials may be made to Unity Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 1267, Fort Mill, SC 29716; or to Hampton Wildlife Fund, Inc., P. O. Box 2641, Columbia, SC, 29202; or to Hospice and Community Care, P. O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC, 29731.

Very sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. He was a good customer of ours and enjoyed him coming in and talking about his hunting and fishing adventures. He will be missed here and we would like to send our thoughts and prayers out to his family and friends.
