JOANN "JODY" KEARNS WITHERS, 87, of Ashton, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2024, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Burial will be in Beale Chapel Cemetery, Apple Grove, W.Va. JoAnn was born September 14, 1936, in Green Bottom, W.Va., to Loren Hamilton and Fanny Marie Fulks Kearns. She was a retired schoolteacher with Mason County Schools and a member of Pliny Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" K. Withers, and three brothers: Keith (Huntington), Bob (Lesage) and Gene (Point Pleasant) Kearns. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Withers (Huntington) and her son, William K. "Bill" Withers II (Ashton). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice, Huntington City Mission, Missio Dei Church (Huntington) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.chapmans-mortuary.com.
