Richard Bogie Obituary

Richard 'Dick' Bogie of Lake Havasu City, AZ passed away peacefully at home on January 18,
2026.

Dick was born on August 23, 1937, in Pine Bluffs, WY to Herman and Wilma Bogie who
preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Bogie, a brother Jim
Bogie and many other extended family and friends.

The family moved to Sterling, Colo, where he met the love of his life, Bernice (Dillie) Bogie and started a family. They lost their 2nd born, Randy, to Cystic Fibrosis at an early age. Dick is survived by his wife of 68 yrs, Bernice and his children, Cheri Hupf, David Bogie, Debra Serr, and Ron Bogie. Along with several grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition, Dick and Bernice were foster parents to 83 children, some of whom remain very close to the family including Kurt and Eddie.

While in Colorado, Dick worked and retired from Peoples Natural Gas. He was also a volunteer firefighter with security Volunteer Fire Department and Castle Rock Fire Department. He also started a very successful business, Bogie construction, installing utilities at various sites in Colorado. Dick and Bernice decided in 1990 to move to Lake Havasu City, AZ where he also brought his Bogie Construction/Phone Cable Locators. Through the years Dick enlarged his company into several nearby states. Not having enough to do, Dick also started or helped to start several more businesses in the Lake Havasu/Mohave valley area.

His strength, strong work ethic and very strong love for family and friends will be remembered by all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and, lovingly remembered by many.
