Douglas Fiscella Obituary

Douglas John Fiscella
September 4, 1944 - March 10, 2025
Douglas John Fiscella, born Sept. 4, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Tom and Bess Fiscella and passed into his Lord's arms March 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ed; and his sister, Carol.
He and his siblings shared a great love of the Arizona desert southwest and together camped in the mountains and fished in the streams. Doug joined the U.S. Air National Guard at 22, honorably discharged in 1971. He was offered a job with Carnation, where he excelled, but it just wasn't for him. He started with the Pima County Sheriff's Department in 1973, then in 1995 became a special investigator for the Pima County Attorney's Office, retiring in 2006 after 33 years in law enforcement.
He loved music of all types and for a while played the bass with a small band. Doug always said he was blessed to have been a kid in Tucson and an adult in Green Valley. Doug loved to go dancing and was always fun to be with. He was a kind and considerate friend and neighbor. Shopping at the Continental Road Safeway was never a chore for him; he said that was another group of friends to visit.
He was loved and will be greatly missed by his brothers Ken and Gary; and sister Dolores. A Celebration of Life is being planned for the summer.

We met Doug when he first became a Pima County Deputy. And he quickly became family. He was always at our house. Billy , Lonnie, Gina and I loved him very much. We even stood up for him and Linda when they got married. There was even a bet at the office how long that would last. He thought that was funny. He was a very kind man and always willing to help anyone which made him an excellent Police Officer.

Doug (Detective Fiscella, #356, if I remember correctly) was such a wonderful guy to work with! In all the years we worked together, I don´t remember a single time that Doug was not enthusiastic about the job and in a good mood! He was a fine detective, a pleasure to work with, and always fun to be around. My sincerest condolences to his loved ones. Kathleen Brennan, Captain (Retired) PCSD
