Vera Elizabeth Renman

Great Falls/Missoula —Vera Elizabeth Renman, 97, passed away of natural causes on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10, 2015 at St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula, Montana.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Highland Cemetery. Following interment, a reception will be held at Schnider Funeral Home. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Vera was born on August 23, 1917 to James and Jean Hill of Sand Coulee, Montana. She spent her childhood in Sand Coulee and graduated from Centerville High School in 1934. After graduation she attended Great Falls Commercial College and began working in Great Falls, working for the Barber Music Company until 1941.

On June 3, 1939, she married J. Rodney Renman, and they remained together until his death on April 12, 2006. They had three children, daughters Bonnie Lee Peterson, Judith Ann Kazak and son Lawrence Richard (Carolyn) Renman.

Vera was a Blue Bird Leader, Den Mother, member of Helen C. Roberts chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Great Falls. She was an active Bridge player and enjoyed other card and board games. In 2008, she moved from Great Falls to an independent living center in Missoula to be closer to family. While living in Missoula she continued to play bridge and also began playing Mexican Train Dominoes, Bingo and Pinochle. She also enjoyed completing crossword puzzles in her spare time.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, husband J. Rodney, oldest daughter Bonnie, brother Stanley, son-in-laws Donn Peterson and Joe Kazak and great granddaughter Ellie Cait Brady.

Memorials in Vera's name are suggested to the Partners in Home Care, 2687 Palmer Street, Missoula, Montana 59808.

Vera was a delight, with her sharp mind and love for family. She taught generations of children to love word puzzles and card games. Her influence will live on for generations to come. We miss her!
