EDWARD SHOURDS Obituary

EDWARD RICHARD SHOURDS Edward Shourds of Granite Falls died on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Our Lady of Peace Hospice House in St. Paul at the age of 91. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home of Granite Falls. Edward Richard Shourds was born on May 12, 1933, in Ghent to Gladys Boyer. He attended school in Ghent. In 1951, at the age of 18, he married Ardys Dale in Minneapolis. They had one child together, Richard. Ed worked for MidContinent Cabinets in Cottonwood. He also had a Schwiegert meat truck and sold to various locations in southwest Minnesota. He would retire from a sales position at Almich's Grocery in Granite Falls. Ed enjoyed woodworking, stained glass and baking bread. He loved to travel and camp. Most of all he cherished his time spent with family especially with his great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings: Mary Christopher, Chapin, S.C., and Donald Shourds, Glendale, Ariz.; two grandsons: Dustin (Julie) Shourds and Jeremy (Tabatha) Shourds; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys; wife, Ardy Shourds; son, Richard Shourds; and brothers, Raymond and Jerry Shourds.

My deepest sympathy to ed's family. he was a great friend of ours and we spent lots of Sundays watching football and baseball together. Ed was such a kind man. He will be missed. RIP Mr Ed.
