Walter Wolff Obituary

I had the pleasure of getting to know the Wolff family in the late 1970's when I moved to Monrovia and Jeff and I became friends. Mr. and Mrs. Wolff always made me feel welcome in their home when I visited, and I can still hear Mr. Wolff's big voice and laugh when I recall the meals shared there.

I remember one particular night when I had planned to spend the night there and a snowstorm came in. My mother couldn't get me there, and Mr. Wolff came and picked me up in his four-wheel drive vehicle (Bronco, maybe?). I have the feeling he did a lot of going out of his way to help others. That's just the kind of person he seemed to be.

I don't remember him ever being anything but encouraging toward the noise Jeff and I made with our guitars, and that made a difference in the importance guitars have had in my life to this day. He showed a genuine interest in what was important at the time to Jeff and me.

My heart is with Jeff, Glen, Kimberly, and Mrs. Wolff during this time (that I learned recently) can be overwhelming in ways both big and small and that at times don't even make sense. Thank you all for being friends.
