Michael Dornseif Obituary
Mike was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a life-long champion of kids. Along with coaching for many years, Mike served Forest Lake Area Schools as Youth Development and Service Learning Coordinator, and wrote the proposal which resulted in the creation of the Forest Lake Area Learning Center (now FL Community School), for which he was the driving force until his retirement in 2010.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, JoAnne (Bosh), his parents Westley and Olive (Skelton) Dornseif, brothers Gene and Bill and in-laws Bennie and Ethel (Lala) Bosh.
He is survived by his children, Michelle (John) Ulvin, Sara, and Jake (Lael) Dornseif; grandchildren, Ashlee (Jared) Pompilio, Mackenzie (Tony Hofman) Dornseif, Ian Ulvin, and Ben, Allison and Brayden Dornseif; great-grandchildren, Alex, Gianna, and Sawyer; beloved friends Ed and Carol Shaorian; and "his kids" from the Forest Lake ALC.
A celebration of Mike's life will be hosted at the Forest Lake Education Center, 943 9th Ave. SW, Forest Lake, MN 55025 on Saturday, June 3 from 1:30-3:30 pm. Memorials preferred to the family.
