Pamela Strickland-Glass Obituary



Attica - Pamela "Pam" Jo (Hembree) Strickland-Glass,
60, formerly of Greenville, Texas and has been residing in
Attica, passed away in her home, surrounded by her family, on
Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 8:25 p.m. following a
courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Pam, as she was known to family and friends, was born
in Williamsport, Indiana on March 30, 1962. She was the
daughter of Nancy JoAnn (Clark) Hembree of Greenville,
Texas and the late Billy Harold Hembree. Pam was raised in
Indiana, living in Attica, Ft. Wayne, Lafayette and Boswell
before moving to Greenville, Texas where she graduated from
Greenville High School in 1980. She received her Associates
Degree from Collin College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Sociology from Texas A & M Commerce. She later received
her Masters Degree in Sociology from Texas A & M
Commerce. Pam worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at
Texas A & M Commerce before moving to Attica in 2020.
She was a Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha
Kappa Delta, Sigma Kappa Delta and Phi Kappa Phi at Texas
A &M Commerce. While living in Texas she was President of
the Home Owners Association.
Pam was first married to Terry Lee Strickland on
September 6, 1980 in Greenville, Texas. She later married
William "Bill" M. Glass on April 3, 1999 in Rowlett, Texas.
Pam leaves behind her husband, Bill of nearly 24 years
along with three daughters, Natalie Strickland, Wylie, Texas;
Terri Lynn (John) Joyce, Farmersville, TX; Doris Marie
Strickland, Denton, TX; a step son, William R. Glass,
Portland, OR and a step daughter, Katie Gillham, Keller, TX; a
brother, Mark Hembree, Greenville, TX and a sister, Lorri
Goddard, Quincy, WA; twelve grandchildren, Tyler and Trinity
Crossley; Truman Strickland, Noah and Rylan Pruitt; Leighana
Wilson; Hayden, Avery, Preslee and Christian Joyce; Luke and
Logan Gillham; Uncles and Aunts, Wayne & Roberta
Hembree, Rebecca Krick, Ella & Denny Dalton, Margie
Druery and Marie & Mike Winkler; a niece, Haley Goddard
and a nephew, Hunter Goddard; several cousins. She was
preceded in death by a daughter, Rachael Crossley and a sister,
Billi Hembree along with her father, Billy Harold Hembree.
As per Pam's request, cremation services were accorded
her with a memorial gravesite service to be held at a later date
in the IOOF Cemetery, Caddo Mills, TX. Memorial
contributions may be made to the ASPCA or to the local Paws
'n Claws Animal Shelter in Attica.

I met Pam in the early 90’s when her sister, Lorri, was my roommate in college. Her smile would light up any room. Her love for family was deep and she was fiercely loyal. She will be missed.
