George Stump Obituary

Williamsport - George Patrick "Pat" Stump, 62, Williamsport, passed away at his home with his wife and daughters at his bedside on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 9:45 p.m.

Pat, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Lafayette, IN on May 2, 1960. He was the son of the late Richard Stump and Nancy (Foster) Lewsader. He was raised in Covington, graduating from Covington High School in 1978. He later moved to the farm in rural Williamsport in 1984.

Pat farmed all of his life in Warren and Fountain Counties.

He was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church. He enjoyed sitting out on the patio of his farm listening to classic rock music. In his pastime he had collected muscle cars and enjoyed sharing his memories of these cars. He loved being on the farm and raising various animals in the pasture. He especially enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandchildren who affectionately called him "Gramps".

On April 17, 1983, Pat married Nancy R. Dickinson in French Lick, IN.

He leaves behind his wife, Nancy of nearly 40 years along with two daughters, Emily (Aaron) Pfister and Laura (Nate) Davis, both of Williamsport; two brothers, Michael (Shozet) Stump, Covington and Coyle Lewsader, Crawfordsville; five grandchildren, Owen, Eli and Dean Pfister; Griffin and Willa Davis. He was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Stump.

Friends may gather at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica on Friday, January 20th, from 12:00 p.m. until memorial service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Following the memorial service family and friends are welcome to gather at the Beef House in Covington from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Warren County Parks Program. Checks may be written to the Town of Williamsport with "Parks Program" in the memo. They also may be mailed to the Warren County Community Foundation at 31 N. Monroe St., Williamsport, IN 47993.

Arnetta and I were so saddened to hear of the loss of Pat. We considered him a good friend through the many years of boarding the dogs he loved so much, from the bassets to his dear Rosie. I was always glad to see Pat and enjoyed all our conversations. Funny he had been on my mind the past few weeks. I am so sorry I have to miss the service due to some ongoing health issues that has kept me home as of late. But want you to know Nancy and family how sorry we are for your loss. A loss to a great many. With love and thoughts Pat (Raintree Pet Lodge).

I miss you already Uncle Pat!!!

I will forever treasure the time we spent together - every conversation we had reenforced my love for you!!

Thank you for all the rides around the farm and for teaching me your philosophy on life. The ways you showed your love for family and our animal kingdom will stick with me forever.

I loved your music, and time spent with you and Nancy has always been some of my most treasured!

The environment you two created every Memorial weekend is one of the most happy experiences of my childhood, & I will be forever grateful! You will always be there with us; whether we’re watching a race, or just gathering for our family reunions!!

Thank you for sharing your life with us, & Keep on doing great things up there!

Love always,
Corey

Pat was one of the nicest, friendliest, and happiest men I"ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. His great love for his family was undeniable and his enthusiasm for life always shined. I'd like to sit out behind his house with him and Nancy just one more time, drink a couple of beers, cuss the politicians, listen to his beloved rock-n-roll, and just enjoy the good feelings Pat always left me with. He will be sorely missed by anyone who ever knew him and certainly by Alinda and myself.

Nancy, family & dearest friends of Pat,
I am so very sorry for your loss. You each are in my prayers. May you find comfort in such deep loss. May his smile, kind heart & deep laugh be forever etched in your lives. He touched mine & my mom's many years ago and left quite an impact. We lost touch through the years. I'm deeply grateful to recently speak with him. Pat, you taught me some deep life lessons and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
