Clifford Cornell Obituary

EFFORT Clifford A. Cornell, 70, of Effort, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in St. Luke's Hospital – Monroe Campus, due to complication from the coronavirus. He was the loving husband of Reca Phillips. The couple celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on October 27. Born in Somerville, NJ, he was a son of the late Clifford A. and Reba (Pratt) Cornell. Clifford attended Somerville High School. Self-employed for most of his career, Clifford was a home improvement contractor and worked as a crane operator for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. An avid bowler for decades, he was active in numerous leagues at Blue Valley Lanes and served as president of the Slate Belt Bowling Association and treasurer of the Monday Night Majors. Although Clifford loved bowling, his passion was fishing, which he and Reca enjoyed doing together. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Reca, he is survived by his son, Matthew Cornell and wife, Stephanie, of Pen Argyl; daughter-in-law, Stacy Davidson of Kunkletown; seven grandchildren, Hayley, CJ, Alexis, Angelo, Carter, Tristian, and Xander; brothers, Ken Cornell and wife, Alberta, of Goldsboro, PA, and Doug Cornell of Bangor; sisters, Carol Cornell of Bangor, Judy Chiarizzio and husband, Bill, of Webster, Florida, and Leda Cornell of Bangor; nieces and nephews. Clifford was predeceased by a son, Clifford E. Cornell, in 2020. Services: There will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE G.
