Joseph Pires Obituary

Joseph R. Pires, Jr., 61, of Rego Avenue, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at home, after a very brave battle with cancer. He was the husband of Kimberly (Michaud) Pires.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of Fernanda (Barbosa) Pires and the late Jose R. Pires. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Alexandra Pires (Benjamin) Shumaker of North Providence; Seth J. Pires of Bristol; and Heather (Mike) Sigrist of Seekonk, MA, twin granddaughters: Annabella and Sofia; and brother Raymond Pires of Taunton.

Joseph attended Bristol High School. He was an avid professional fisherman and diver and was self-employed for decades. He also worked in the N.E. Regional Carpenters Union 535, where he relished traveling to various locations around the country and world. Joe loved being out on the water, he had a beautiful smile, and he enjoyed socializing. He was a devoted husband and father, and we are devastated by the early loss of him from our family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 12 – 3 PM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street. A prayer service will take place at the funeral home at 2:30 PM. www.limafh.com
