Harry Rogers Obituary

Harry Page Rogers, 97, of Hayesville, passed away peacefully at his home during the night on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025.
Harry was born in Clay County to the late Neal N. and Nettie E. Ledford Rogers. He worked in agricultural farming. Harry lived on Arch Ridge, where he passed, that was named after his great-great-granddad's homestead in the 1800's. He was baptized on April 25, 1976 at First View Baptist of Norfolk, Va. Harry attended Truett Memorial First Baptist Church in Hayesville. He was a 22 year United States Navy Veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. Harry was a navigator on an LST which transported military supplies all over the world. He was proud to say that his navigation skills factored in to never running aground.
He is survived by his three sons Mark Rogers (Rose), Michael Rogers (Tonia) and David Rogers (Holly); his brother, Bobby Rogers; his sisters, Patricia Noell and Cheryl Bracken; several grandchildren, April, Julie, Noelle, Joseph and Matthew; several great-grandchildren, Hunter, Clara and Violet; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalind Dills; his second wife, Marylyn Jones Rogers; his sisters, Jean Moss and Helen Hartley; his brothers, Nolan, William Ray and Jimmy Rogers.
An inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at Marshalls Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hayesville.

Harry was my father-n-law by marriage to Mike his son. He was once a neighbor. Harry loved my mom and visited her often. Boy would they laugh at eachother ALWAYS!!!! He left us with many wonderful memories. He loved his grandkids Julie and April. Always checked up on us. Always said "I love you" on the phone or when I visited him in Hayesville, I love him too. I can hear him and mom in heaven laughing!!!!! Miss him and glad I had the honor to be in his life!!!!! Love you grandpa!

Harry was my neighbor at one time. I was married his son Mike. Harry loved my mom!!! Mom would laugh at him everytime he visited her. He was so good to me and his grandkids Julie and April. We will all miss him!!!!

Since I am the last born child in this Rogers family; I was driving Harry to our sister Jeans funeral several yrs ago, I looked over at Harry and said, if I happen to be the last one that dies, whose gonna´ be here to bury me?????he looked over at me and said ` I´ll be on my way back by then´ Cheryl
