Oscar Farish Obituary

Oscar Lee Farish, born on April 28, 1938, died on September 16, 2023, at the age of 85. He was a lifelong resident of Dyke, Virginia. He was born in Albemarle County, Virginia, to the late Robert Lee Farish, Sr., and Neva May Sprouse Farish Kidd.

Oscar was employed at UVA for eighteen years before working in construction with Thomas Mallory. Oscar retired with knowledge and ability to do plumbing, building and construction, HVAC, tractor and small engine repair, and anything he set his mind to. Oscar was a respected member of the Dyke Volunteer Fire Company for several years. He generously served friends and members of the community for many years. He enjoyed hunting when he was younger, had a passion for camping, spending time with friends, and loved music.

Oscar is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Linda Diane Baugher Farish. Along with his wife, he is survived by his sisters, Lillian Spradlin and Neva "Pat" Farish, and son Michael Farish. He leaves behind a grandson, Michael, and many nieces and nephews, loving stepsons, Shane Eppard and Craig Eppard, and grandchildren, Emily and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Mizer, and brother, Robert Farish.

The family will host a memorial service on September 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Dyke Volunteer Fire Company. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dyke Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 9, Dyke, VA 22935.
