I was shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Major Ron Davis. I enjoyed working with him in HPD Records where he was a supervisor and he treated everyone fairly. He was a man of honesty and integrity and admired by all who interreacted with him. He certainly made a difference at HPD and served as Hampton's finest. To Helen, you made him very happy when you became his wife and I remember how he spoke fondly of you and his grandchildren. May he rest in peace because he has finished his assignment.

Dear Helen and Family,

My heart is so very saddened to hear of RV's passing. He was such a kind and soft-spoken man. He was a great leader and a precious soul. He listened with his heart and often new others better than they know their selves. It was a pleasure to work with him at HPD and to be his friend!

Love and prayers to you and the family.

It saddens me to see this. I've know RV since he was a rookie walking the beat in Phoebus. He'd stop by the firehouse and "check on" us teenagers to make sure we were being good. Continued our relationship through life are we rose through the ranks in our careers. RV was a super guy and would always stop and chat about the old days when he'd ride by the house. RIP my friend God Speed. Peace to all who loved him.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of my coworker and friend, Major R. V. Davis. I met R.V. Davis when he first started working at the Hampton Police Department in 1977. it was a pleasure and honor to know RV as a friend and co-worker. He was loyal to his family, friends and police department, When I retired, we still stayed in contact. I would call him while he was still working at police deparment and also when he worked as Asst. Chief at Hampton University. When we talked, it was about our families. He was a family man that loved his wife, Helen, children, and grandchildren. He was a man that showed his happiness through loving his family and friends. Any citizens that ever met RV, likeed him. RV was a great listener and showed each citizen equally with respect. RV was once incharge of animal control and lots of cats had been reported to him by a citizen. He made sure that they were trapped and not out there with no food, water or a place to call home. He had compassion for all people and animals. May God continue to bless his family. RV is now in Heaven, pain free, singing with God's angles and running the streets of gold.

We met in Hampton's HPD SIU. Over the years you always said hello and you always remembered the book I showed you on the history of HI (HU). I've looked for another over the years without luck. Mine was my mother's copy. Now, if there are Davits' siblings who are alumnus, I would gladly pass my copy along. Mike c/o [email protected]

The last time I communicated with Ronald was on July 6th via text message. On June 27th I was searching through some photos and came upon one with Ronald and my sister Myrna on their Confirmation. He was happy stated that it brought back good memories. The next was one of his mom, my auntie, which he shared with Helen. Ronald was one of my closest cousin, he was very dear to me no matter how far apart or how long in between visit. It was as if we never parted. To Helen and the rest of the family, the Harrison’s family extend our heartfelt condolences to you. My heart aches for you. May God grant us peace and comfort in knowing that the chain will link again. Rest easy Ron until we meet again. Forever in my heart. Sandra Dee, Myrna, Wayne, Hyacinth, Raymond and Marjorie Harrison.
