Barbara Rumsey Obituary

Kingston- A laughing jokester flew to be with her sons in heaven on December 3, 2023. The world lost Barbara Joan Rumsey, aged 91 to health complications on a beautiful peaceful Sunday afternoon. She had been a resident of Ferncliff Nursing home where she received excellent care for 4 years. Having lived in Yosman towers of Kingston for more than 20 years prior to that, Ulster and Dutchess counties have suffered a great loss. Many years were spent volunteering for multiple agencies like Walker Valley Fire Company, Pine Bush VFW, and the Kingston Visitors Center. Barbara is survived by four children Stephen Walters of Washington, Donna Walters of New Jersey, David Rumsey of New York, and Todd Rumsey of New York. Suffering greatly are 13 grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Waiting for her in heaven with open arms are two sons Kevin and Guy. The family will hold a service at Ferncliff Nursing home when available, and graveside services will be held in Pine Bush Cemetery in the Spring of 2024.
