Raymond Stump Obituary

Raymond E. Stump, age 83, of Crestline passed away Saturday March 8, 2025 at Avita Galion Hospital. Born June 19, 1941 in Crestline, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Spangler) Stump. He married the love of his life Evelyn Sterner on August 1, 1981 and she survives. He attended Crestline Schools and then he joined the U.S. Army in 1958 and was a member of the Quartermaster Corps. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church before illness prevented him from attending. He was an employee of North Electric and ITT for 23 years. He enjoyed woodworking and made the Crestline sports signs for their yard displays for many years. He liked to do jigsaw puzzles. He loved to watch his kids and grandkids play sports and taking care of his great grandchildren, knowing him as Pawpaw. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: David (Tammy) Stump, Dennis (Connie) Stump, Richard Stump and Donna (Tim Russell) Stump, grandchildren: Joshua (Brittany) Stump, Denise Stump, Nicholas Heifner and Brandon Stump, step granddaughter Beth (Adam) White, great grandchildren: Devin and Jalynn Stump and Anna Marie and Braydon Lewis Ables, step great grandson Xavier Weithman, brothers: Johnny, Robert (Annette) and Paul (Norma) Stump and sister Loretta Kitts as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers James and George Stump, sister Margie Thompson and infant brother Charles Stump. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Saturday March 22, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Main St Crestline where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dianna Seaman officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Galion/ Crestline Veterans Military Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Restoration Fund.
