Patsy Fern Sykes, 83 of Bucyrus passed away Saturday March 15, 2025, at home. Patsy was born July 22, 1941, in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Chill and Rosie (Long) Shackelford. She was married November 13, 1957, to Arthur G. Sykes who preceded her in death on July 6, 2007. She was also preceded in death by son Arthur G. “Butch” Sykes Jr. and brother Jerry Shackelford.
Patsy is survived by son Todd (Robin) Sykes and grandchildren Justin (Star) Sykes, Levi (Shannon) Sykes, and Ashley, as well as 12 great grandchildren.
Patsy lived most of her life in Bucyrus and was a homemaker. She was a woman of strong faith and always put her family first. Her favorite saying was “I love you with all my heart and half my gizzard”. She enjoyed talking daily on the phone with family and friends, playing bingo, and was excited about playing scratch offs every day. She, like her husband, were avid Kentucky Wildcat fans.
Private Funeral Services will be held in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
