Leroy Junior Wilson, age 74, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Daytona Beach, FL. Born on June 19, 1950, in Bucyrus, OH, Leroy was a beloved figure in his community and a cherished member of his family.

Leroy graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1969, where he was a passionate participant in cross country and track events. He continued his love for running into adulthood, frequently participating in the Brattie Runs at The Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival and various other local festivals.

Professionally, Leroy dedicated many years as an Operator at The Bucyrus Waste Water Treatment Plant, where he was respected for his work ethic and camaraderie with colleagues.

Leroy was a devoted sports fan, loyally supporting The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed the warm weather of Florida, which was a perfect match for his vibrant and sociable nature.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Wilson of Daytona Beach; daughter, Sherri Wilson Murray of Ruskin, FL; and son, Kurtis Wilson (Sharon Beecham) of Bucyrus, OH. He was a proud grandfather to Kendra Wilson of Daytona Beach. He also leaves behind his siblings, Effie Marie Schifer, Kathy Bucher of Bucyrus, OH, and Forest M. (Barb) Frizzell of Marion, OH.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Jack M. and Effie Marie Wheeler Frizzell; brothers, Michael Wilson and Karl Frizzell; and stepson, Christopher Charlton.

A celebration of Leroy's life will be planned at a later date in Ohio. His joyful spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
