Ruth Jones Obituary

Ruth Imogene "Jean" Jones, 96, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Carriage Crossing in Rochester, IL. Jean was born in Pawnee, IL. on August 19, 1928, the daughter of Vernon and Allie (Hunt) Maltby. She married Howard Paul Jones on September 28, 1946. Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Paul Jones; parents Vernon and Allie (Hunt) Maltby; sisters Faye (Theodore) Walquist, Edna Mae (Roy) Williams, Dorothy (Joe) Hennessey and longtime friend and neighbor Millie Henry. She is survived by her son; Robert (Beverly) Jones of Princeton, IL. and daughter Connie (John) Shull of Springfield; grandchildren, Lisa Marie (Lee) Kinnamon, Jeffery (LeeAnn) Jones, and Andrew (Jennifer) Shull; great grandchildren, Kelsey Jones, Amanda Jones, Alex Jones, Addison Shull and Ben Shull; brother Vernon (Catherine) Maltby; and other beloved nieces and nephews. Also surviving, the Henry children, Deb, Mike, Beetle, David, Tracey, Kelli, and their family. Arrangements for cremation by Park Funeral Home, Rochester, Illinois. A private memorial service will be held at a later date and burial will occur in Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee, Illinois.
