Doris Depew Obituary

Doris Jane Hutalski Depew, 93, of Muddy Creek Township, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025, at Quality Life Services in New Castle.
Doris was born Jan. 25, 1932, at the family farm in Cranberry Township and was the daughter to the late Clarence Thomas Steeb and Edna Amelia Barto Steeb. She married Theodore Hutalski on June 5, 1954, and he preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1997. Doris later married James Depew, who preceded her in death Aug. 21, 2022.
Doris was of the Baptist faith and attended Slippery Rock Baptist Church. She worked for many years at A&P in the meat department. Doris was a wonderful cook, enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets, bird watching, spending time with family; and most importantly, being grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth T. Hutalski of Prospect and Mark T. Hutalski of Ashley, Ohio; sister, Evelyn Schlimmer of Ellwood City; stepsons, Mark, Matthew and Nathan (Julie) Depew; granddaughters, Anna (Mark), Lillian (Lucas) and Melanie (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Addison, Hazel and Anaiah; as well as several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Doris was preceded in death by brothers, Donald "Carl" Steeb, Clair Steeb, Ray Steeb and Dale Steeb; as well as grandson, Frank Hutalski.
DEPEW - Family of Doris Jane Hutalski Depew, who died Friday, July 25, 2025, will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Pastor Jeffrey Lynn of Slippery Rock Baptist Church will preside.
Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park in Cranberry Township.
